About DCTV Hub

DCTV Hub is a community video platform in development, created to extend the DeCollaborators ecosystem into documentary, short-form video, interviews, and community updates. The focus is not “content for content’s sake” — it’s purposeful media that helps communities be seen, understood, and supported.

We work with community groups, churches, charities, social enterprises, youth projects, and local partners to create clear, accessible visual storytelling that highlights care provision, local activity, and opportunities.

What DCTV is (and isn’t)

  • Is: a community media platform for visibility, learning, and collaboration.
  • Is: a place where organisations can share their work in a clear, dignified way.
  • Is: designed for partnerships, series production, and local storytelling.
  • Isn’t: a click-bait media outlet or a platform chasing controversy.

What We Do

DCTV Hub supports community outcomes through simple, repeatable video formats and ethical production workflows.

Community Visibility

We help organisations explain their services clearly — what they do, who it’s for, when it runs, and how to access it — so residents can find the right support quickly.

Story-Led Video

We produce video that centres people, place and purpose: why a project exists, who it serves, and what difference it makes — without sensationalism.

Skills & Participation

DCTV creates structured opportunities for volunteers and learners to build real production skills — filming, editing, interviewing, presenting, and publishing — with mentoring and clear roles.

Designed to connect with the ecosystem

DCTV Hub can be connected to DCRadio Hub (audio/podcast distribution) and DCTribe (training and collaboration), so stories become discoverable, repeatable, and measurable across platforms.

Video Formats

Clear formats make production consistent, funder-safe, and easy for communities to participate in.

Partner with DCTV Hub

We welcome partnerships with councils, community councils, charities, churches, social enterprises, businesses, funders and academic institutions.

DCTV Hub partnerships are designed to deliver shared outcomes: improved visibility of services, stronger community connection, and practical training pathways for participants. Projects can be commissioned as one-off features or structured series.

Partner outcomes (examples)

  • Increase awareness and uptake of community services
  • Document impact stories for reporting and evaluation
  • Create participant pathways (training → production → publish)
  • Support local economies through ethical promotion and visibility

How partnership works

  • Step 1: Define your goal (visibility, recruitment, outcomes, reporting)
  • Step 2: Choose a format (Spotlight, Day in the Life, Series)
  • Step 3: Agree a plan (roles, permissions, schedule, publishing)
  • Step 4: Produce & publish (with consistent quality checks)
  • Step 5: Capture outcomes (reach, engagement, feedback, next steps)
